4 Weeks To Get Things Done

March 30, 2008 by Beth Kuehn

Wow, I can't believe there are only 4 weeks of classes left. Spring semester always flies by, with several long weekends at the beginning and Spring Break in the middle-end. So now, it's crunch time!

Things are settled with Grad School, we are headed to Seattle FOR SURE, yay! This decision was thrown for a mini-loop this week with an unexpected offer of a partial assistantship from WSU. In the end though, I couldn't give up on my dream of joining the UW program.

So the final tally was:

  • University of Washington acceptance
  • Washington State acceptance
  • University of Kansas acceptance
  • University of Arizona waiting list
  • Vanderbilt waiting list

I am glad things are settled, now we are gearing up for the big move, trying to find job(s) and a place to live. I would say I'm looking forward to not having to deal with snow again (see HERE) but, um, this last week it has been snowing just as much in Western WA as it has in Eastern WA. Crazy "spring" weather!

I Am Going To Be A Master! (updated x2)

Assuming I make it through the end of this semester, anyways.

Yes, letters for Grad School are coming in.

WSU is a yes!

Vanderbilt is a maybe (waiting list).

UW is a YES!!!!!

U of Az is a ?

U of Kansas is a yes!

We are excited to know that we will be going SOMEWHERE. And Spokane would not be that bad. Friends are there and it is 1.5 hours less driving to visit our families/friends on the west side of the mountains.

**UPDATE** Looks like it will be SEATTLE, yayayaya!

**UPDATE 3/10** So, that is 3 1/2 out of 5 acceptances so far. I think waiting list at an extremely competetive school counts as 1/2 of an acceptance, no? They at least didn't say flat out "Denied".

The Internet Is Bad For My Grades.

March 1, 2008 by Beth Kuehn

I should be writing a diagnostic report for Language Impairment. Instead, I am working on this webpage. Yay procrastination!

Look at this neat feature.

The internet is fun. It wastes a lot of my time. I should have given up the internet for Lent. Oh well, there is always next year.

You can make neat lists with this template. Here is mine.

Things that I have to do this week:

  • Diagnostic report 1st draft (Mon)
  • 3 diagnostic report peer reviews (Wed)
  • Speech Sound Disorders quiz(Wed)
  • Clinical Apprenticeship exam(Wed)
  • Audiometry exam(Wed)
  • Puretone tests due(Wed)
  • Neuroscience exam(Thurs)
  • Diagnostic report final draft (Fri)
  • Audiomety Lab practical mid-term (Fri)
  • 2 Audiomety Observations due(Fri)

Don't be jealous now!

Okay, off I go to do homework. Check back soon for more updates. Well, maybe not THAT soon.
