Moi!
BM Leah
Finished hair
Almost done
Dave's mom came over to have her hair done. This grin didn't leave her face all day!
My dad was a trooper with all the girly stuff going on around him. I made him fetch Starbucks to wake us all up...
but I think he was secretly glad of an excuse to leave the house!
I like to call this pose "Super Bride". Please take note of my extremely awesome red white and blue jammie pants. Appropriate for
our almost-Fourth-of-July wedding, I thought. Apparently everyone else just thought I was silly :)
With our hair & makeup done so early, there were several hours before we needed to get dressed and head to the church. How do you kill time
on your wedding day? Well you could...
Hang out on the patio
Talk on the phone while pacing in the backyard
Iron... Always a favorite!
Drink Mimosas and eat breakfast (This gets my vote!)
Or, you could take a nap like my MOH Kirsten did for 2 hours! This is my blackmail photo :)
Friends for 15 years.
And then, just like that, it was time to get dressed.
We had time for some photos at the house before heading to the church.
My mom and brothers. I wonder what they were laughing about?
Mom and Dad
My mom is my hero, she is a breast cancer survivor and had to have surgery, chemo, and radiation.
She is a 5 year survivor as of May 2007!! That's as "cured" as it gets!
My brothers took me getting married very seriously, as you can tell.
Love this pic with my girls!
Leah directs the action
My great family
I almost forgot my earrings, quelle horreur!!
Phew! That was a close one.
One last touch up with the war paint
We're out the door
And off I go!
We got to the church, and SURPRISE! There was a ninja wedding mass before ours. And it was running 20 minutes late.
How do these things not get on the parish calendar?! Due to this, our picture time was a smidge crammed, fortunately our
photographers worked quickly and were adaptable, although they were very confused when they got to the church to set up.
They actually called my husband to see if we had started early, lol. Like if we had, he would have answered his phone.
"Oh hi, we're at the head of the aisle, where are you guys?" Anyways, I was pretty pissed about the whole situation,
but what can you do? I wasn't going to charge down the aisle in the middle of their mass and demand that they get out
(well, maybe in one of my more bridezilla-ish dreams!) Regardless life went on and the day was good...
Posing for some pro pics.
I had to pretend to be a sweet, demure bride. Ha!
Dave's mom showed up in her blue jeans with dress in hand.
My hubby arrives.
Dave's dad, Dick.
Judy in her dress. Think she's happy much?
Some more pictures with my mom.
I finally get to see my soon to be husband.
Note: We did not have a special "reveal" and I so wish we would have at least had a private moment to first see each
other. I would strongly suggest to plan something private if you are seeing each other
before the ceremony. I had wanted us to have a moment in the church sanctuary, of course this was nigh to impossible
in the semi-chaos following the other wedding. If I could do it again, I would probably have had the two of us meet
at a local park or something for our first look.
Dave's sweetheart of a grandma. I just love his grandparents!
There goes my brother Peter being serious again.
BM Hannah and her now husband Albert. At the time of our wedding, they had been engaged for LONGER than
Dave and I had known each other (~3 years). Crazy kids!
Thank heavens my parents had the foresight to have chilled bottled water at the church. It was 85 degrees
that day and I was cooking!!
More war paint. Putting on makeup makes for good pictures apparently. See my camera guy in the background?
I did not ask what they were all doing in the bathroom together. I find this picture amusing though! :)
My Grandma Betty
A close up of my bouquet
Headed out for wedding party pics
You know, looking back I am somewhat amazed I only had to pee once before the ceremony!
All the handsome men!
Does Best Man Jeremy look like he is plotting something in this picture?
That's because he was! I just about died laughing when he kissed Dave. These two have been friends for
something like 20 years.
Hannah and I
Getting ready for the 5 million altar pics that I so did not want to do.
Dad cutting a loose thread off of my dress. Thank goodness for dads!
The whole crew... after every possible combination of family picture we could have taken! I was about ready
to kill someone by this point if we didn't finish soon.
More to come!
